Bengals vs Titans 2017: Game time, TV schedule, online streaming, odds, how to watch and follow
After a very disheartening loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Cincinnati Bengals are still technically in the hunt for the playoffs. They will be set to take on the Tennessee Titans this week who are sitting at 5-3 atop the AFC South.
Every game is crucial for the Bengals at this point, but to hand a loss to a team like the Titans could be huge come the end of the season, or even just for the team’s confidence at this point.
Last week, the Titans handed the Baltimore Ravens a loss as they controlled Baltimore all game long. The titans never trailed as they won their third straight game. What was impressive is that the Titans did most of their damage through the air.
Baltimore’s secondary is very good at smothering receivers, but Marcus Mariota had a field day only missing nine of his 28 throws for two touchdowns and an interception on the day.
The Bengals will probably have to be more worried about the Titans two-headed monster coming out of the backfield, DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry. The two have combined for over 800 rushing yards and five touchdowns this season. The Bengals have struggled to slow down running backs for three straight weeks, so these two could cause problems for the Bengals this week.
The Bengals most notably will be dealing with the loss of Jake Fisher. The offensive tackle has been shut down for this season with an irregular heartbeat. Andre Smith will likely be taking over the spot, but this will put an end to the tackle rotation that had been going on. We will see what kind of effect that will have on the game.
Andy Dalton will have A.J. Green to throw to as the receiver avoided a suspension for this game, and he will need him as the Titans currently have the 18th-ranked pass defense in the NFL. Hopefully, they can put some points on the board this week together.
Defensively this team seems to have been figured out. Especially on third down. Last week the Jaguars converted 12-18 third downs on their way to dominating time of possession. Adjustments will have to be made otherwise the Bengals will likely be in a similar boat this week.
